Homework this week is to focus on using specific examples in the exam.

Take 15 print shots of your A2 music video/AS production

Select a minimum of 3 print shots for each exam topic:

·       Digital technology

·       Creativity

·       Post-production (editing)

·       Research and planning

·       Using conventions from real media texts

Around the outside of your print shots, annotate with notes relating to each exam topic:

• digital technology
• using conventions from real media texts
• creativity
• post production
• research and planning

This will give you clear and specific examples to use in your exam.

In your annotations use Media Terminology and make links to Theorists.

You have 3 weeks until your music video must be finished!! You need to be in O8 editing as much as pos in these last few weeks.

Also, reminder to hand in payment and permission slip to the office asap. Your Collective Identity trip is next Wednesday (14th March). A most valuable day when you meet the chief examiner. Don't miss out!

Final Deadline Dates Approach...

1) You have 4 WEEKS until your EDITING MUST be FINISHED: Friday 30th March

This deadline is FINAL and cannot be pushed back...

Make full use of O8: edit during free periods / lunchtimes and before and after school...

I do not want you to worry, but I do need you to take these deadlines seriously. Hard work now will pay off: you're working towards your golden ticket to your future...CHHEEEEESE.....but true!

2) If you have not already done so, please bring in your money and permission slip for the Collective Identity trip on Weds 14th March. See the office if you're unsure if you've paid already.

3) Magazine advert deadline: Friday16th March.
4) Audience theory and notes needs to be on blog by Easter (only 4 weeks away)

There is a lot to do in this final push before you leave school to sit your final A2 exams. Please ask me if you need any help / clarification on the above. I'm more than happy to mark any essays you've re-written or talk you through what's needed on your blog etc.

OK all, here's a breakdown of our final weeks of Media Studies:


FILMING Deadline: Friday 24th February
(3 weeks incl. half term)

A2 MOCK: Friday 2nd March
(4 weeks incl. half term)

Music Video FINISHED: Friday 30th March
(8 weeks incl. half term)

You're all making good progress. Ensure you keep an eye on these timings though...

Lastly, payment is due for your 'Collective Identity' Trip. £10 + permission slip. Speak to me if you have any concerns about the trip.
