Media Prefects

Joely, Beste, Andrea

Please can you have a general tidy up in O8 this week - paper / equipment / displays etc.
If you're unsure where things go or if you should throw anything away, don't! Just leave near under the window by the teacher's desk.

Any time before Friday is fine.
Many thanks

Tasks This Week

Well done everyone, you're making some good blogging and filming progress.

This week's tasks:
* FINISH your digipak - be prepared to talk the class through your digipak posts on Friday
* FINISH your creativity essay

“Describe and evaluate your creative skills development from AS foundation portfolio to A2 Advanced portfolio”

* LOOK at your YEAR 12 BLOG for ideas for your essay. EACH PARAGRAPH needs a POINT: what creative decision you made at AS; an EXAMPLE from your AS film, an EXPLANATION of how your creativity is BETTER at A2, with an EXAMPLE from your music video
* UPLOAD some audience feedback - ask your friends to watch your raw footage and comment on whether it suits your genre / ask for creative ideas for editing etc...
* FILM and EDIT

For Ms Scott:
* PLAN your essay
* Bring in a paper version of your essay(to be photocopied for other members of the class)
* Be PREPARED to discuss your plan in Friday's lesson

New Year Resolutions

Spring Term! Welcome back

Hope you had a restful break. Following Friday's 'power chat' (?!) and receiving your shocking current grade levels, you need to ensure that you are working to your full potential in Media Studies. Make sure you collect the best possible Media Studies A level grade you can achieve in the summer.

Working hard now opens doors to your future plans

ps I am VERY excited about the filming already done by groups so far. Well done (and thanks for cheering me up after my despondent, worried moan)!

Media Studies New Year Resolutions:
- meet up with your group at least twice a week outside lesson time
- blog at least every other day
- read The Guardian Media/Music online at least once a week
http://www.guardian.co.uk/media
- hand in essays on time
- come to the media room to edit during free periods/before&after school
Some Scary Dates...
13 weeks =                  Time left at school
26 lessons =               Lessons left in school
9 weeks =                      Time until you hand in your final music video, digipak and magazine advert
